   Blated Happy Birthday Oni!  Hope you had a great one.   
      
   Haven't had much time to be participating in the group - Dad's been sick -   
   Been in the hospital for one thing and another since early Nov/06 got out   
   for a couple of day Nov. 10-12 - readmitted Nov. 12   
      
   On Dec. 14 they removed his left leg below the knee - he's doing quite well   
   with it - they're talking about trying HBO therapy on his right leg - hope   
   it works!   
      
   I'm in the midst of applying for DVA benefits for him - so if anybody's got   
   any hints - please send them my way - I could use all the help I can get.   
   If we could get DVA benefits for him - it would be really great as they   
   would likely approve him for a scooter and this would help him to maintain   
   some of his independance -   
      
   Hope everyone had a great Chrismas and a Happy New Year and that you and   
   your families are all well and enjoying life.   
      
   Hector and I are going south for a couple of weeks near the end of this   
   month - I can hardly wait - going to Cuba! Any hints about what to do see   
   etc. from all you travelers would be appreciated
