That should prevent NEW bugs from getting in..              When we bought this computer about 2y ago, McAfee came with it, with regular       up-dates. Then about a year later, McAfee wanted us to purchase the latest       version and for some reason refused any up-dates for the one installed on       our computer. I checked out what our cable company (Cogeco.ca in this part       of the country) had and it sounded quite good, with a lot of extras they did       (do) automatically. So I switched and have been more than pleased with the       results. They seem to nail every thing coming with a virus (esp those bank       'suspensions', paypal & ebay). Some spam does get through, but not nearly       the amount I use to get. I belong to about 35 genealogy related mailing       lists, as well as several NGs and have also had the same e-mail addy for       about 7y, so it is out there on the net, hence I'm bound to get some spam.       Another way I have cut down on the spam ... 2 ways actually ... I rarely       fwd any jokes or chain mail, but if I do, I delete any previous senders       headings/addresses, plus those who the sender has neglected to snip, using       an 'undisclosed recipients' list.              The way things are these days, most providers try to keep on top of things       and could be the best bet for protection.              Toni              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
