   Sorry, but I don't buy that "options" come into it. I suppose right now I   
   have the "option" to use guns, I'm a legal British firearms owner and I   
   can shoot straight. But the notion of ever doing so for anything as silly   
   as being a bit grumpy, literally, never occurs to me. It is no option   
   because it is not something to consider. It isn't something that any   
   responsible gun owner would do.   
      
   My understanding of American gun owners - military servicemen and   
   veterans or not - is that much the same applies to the vast majority of   
   those people, too.   
      
   So the point at which any "option" of using a gun for other than hunting   
   or military purposes becomes a problem is a good long way before that gun   
   ends up in the hands of someone prepared to use it for uncivilised   
   purposes.
