XPost: talk.politics.misc, us.military, us.military.navy       XPost: aus.politics.guns, uk.politics.guns       From: Voter@Vote2016.com              But what to do about hoodlums...                     The people are not meant to be powerless,              and a government, not of the militia, is a government not of the people.                     The problem is just some people who intend to rob, and escalate insults with       gunfire.                     We're supposed to love our country, and not be at war with it.              We're supposed to lead our countrymen, and include everybody.              We're supposed to lead to the truth, and serve the truth.              "When the people fear the government there is tyranny.       When the government fears the people there is liberty.       When no on fears anyone there is America."              If you're going to bear a gun for self defense, you should have a self defense       plan. Maybe we want to bundle the sale of a gun with a self defense course       and a       gun safety course.              Motives for crime are:       1. Violating the government's dishonest prohibition statutes. Which is not a       crime, but a right!       2. Stealing others Property and Sex - which are "the mountain between us."       3. Criminal Insanity. - In the first: bullying, and victimization as the       motive;       (criminally insane who kill cats, torture puppies, and want to hurt others -       and       who need to know that by hurting others they're only hurting themselves more -       if       they ever realize their humanity - some may in this lifetime, some may not).       And in the second: escalating insults, and vengeance.              There should be no reason to commit crime in America.              We deserve a free country and have been promised one all along.       But freedom depends also upon prosperity and abundance and economic       egalitarianism. We can't hope to be free when we live next door to countrymen       who       are poor, and we have no charity as a government, to help them improve their       fortunes. A complete understanding of the macro economy is essential, and       people       at least need help getting started, like an education, and it's possible that       economic inequality by the hour just shouldn't be allowed to exist (this would       require forced capital savings accounts).              ============              "Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who       approaches       that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force.       Whenever       you give up that force, you are ruined.... The great object is that every man       be       armed. Everyone who is able might have a gun."       - Patrick Henry, Speech to the Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 5, 1778              "This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty.... The right of self       defense is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study       of       rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever       standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms       is,       under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already       annihilated, is on the brink of destruction."       - St. George Tucker, Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England, 1803              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
