Same here. Ottawa tried to talk me into paying CPP/EI/taxes while I
lived abroad and I said no way. Saved the difference and LMAO to the bank.

CPP in Canada is going to be a target sooner or later. The government
is so far into debt spending that at some point it will collapse and so
will the social programs. Government cannot sustain this liberal debt
   philophy going forward.

And CCP isn't near enough to live on as it is. Going to get down to
greed, government statism versus the people. CPP has promised people a
lot of money and is in reality unrealized debt not accounted for by
Ottawa. Over the years Ottawa pissed it away in general spending. That
is, there is no magic reserve of cash for the CPP.

Sort of like screwing workers today for Turdeau debt spend of the past.
     Liberal spending.

My guess is government is going to look for any excuse it can muster to
cut and pull it back, in effect welshing on the social contract. Going
to be a lot of old folks living very poor shortly. The only silver
lining is if a minor recover does occur in say 3 years, there might be
jobs for the 65 and up that have to keep working. But many will not be
   able too.

Sad, but true. And you also get paid more to immigrate to Caanda, which
is another bone to pick. Out old people live a lower standard than
   unemployed immigrants.
