   on this, I have to agree that we COULD do better- we might look at   
   Norway, or Sweden..... and while Japan's system is not too different   
   from ours, our hospitals are so far apart and all of our cities likewise   
   spread out over a vast distance, having the same number of MRI's is   
   problematic, to say nothing of the distance one must go in rural areas   
   to see a doctor.   
   Geographical features and the distances this imposes on cost of   
   healthcare delivery, is significant, in contrast to Japan's.
