How much did Harper bribe McGuinty with - if McGuinty would introduce the HST
   into
   Ontario?

Same old right wing ploy at work once again:
   1. Bankrupt the country through Conservative spending & corporate tax cuts
   2. Transfer burden of taxation to Provinces to deflect from true source of
   financial
   problem - Ottawa
   3. Sit back and tell the (less bright) voters that 'the Federal government
   CUT taxes',
   rather than raised them.

Harper’s HST deal with Liberals, which will merge the provincial sales tax
   with the GST,
will not only add the new tax to many items that are not now covered by the
   provincial
sales tax, but will shift the tax burden onto British Columbian families.

The federal government is planning to spend $1.6 billion to get British
   Columbia to agree
to the newly expanded HST, which will come into effect July 1, 2010.

HARPER GOVERNMENT TO INTRODUCE HST LEGISLATION

NDP Voting Against it, BQ will Support Conservatives

Ontarians will see their sales taxes combined for a total of 13 per cent. Five
   per cent of
that is the federal Goods & Services Tax (GST), and 8 per cent is the
   Provincial Sales Tax
(PST). People in B.C. will see their sales taxes raised to 12 per cent, a
   combined 7 per
cent PST, and 5 per cent GST.

Federal money has already been promised to both jurisdictions to help with the
   changeover.
Ontario will get $4.3 billion, while British Columbia will get $1.6 billion.
   The HST will
come into effect on July 1, 2010.
