Several of my tax clients receive patronage payments from co-ops.
They receive an annual T4A slip from the co-op which shows the
amount received and the amount of tax withheld. The PROFESSIONAL
tax software I use has provision for such NON-taxable patronage
payments. I enter the amounts in the proper input areas and VOILA,
the income amount is NOT included in net income and any tax
withheld is added to credits...and refunded, as the case may be. I
suggest that you retain the services of a PROFESSIONAL tax
preparer. This is yet another example why a LOT of people should
NOT be doing their own income taxes.
