   True.  But there are some that pay interest of 2% just for the deposit   
   of it and no fees.  Others, have a household net assets at the   
   institution of some amount like $50K, and no fees.  Always pays to know   
   your fees before you leap.   
      
   ING Direct pays 2% and no fees, good for starters.  $15000 in there does   
   better than any traditional banks I know, $300/year is about the best   
   you can get for deposit risk.  No T4 or T5 BS either.   
      
   But I prefer investing it.  TFSA is a $23K and pays juicy dividends tax   
   free.  Averages well over $100/mo and no BS tax work.
