And who got booted out of government for a long long time? I hope that our
current political leadership has learned from the past mistakes of the
Progessive Conservatives, and does not repeat those mistakes. So far, I have
been reasonably satisfied with the Conservtive Party commitment and
follow-through, and it seems that enough other people are similarly
satisfied. I especially like cancelling the tax-trough payments to political
parties and laying off 1/3 of the federal civil service (could be more...
but what the heck, it's a good start.)

I also like ending the threat of jail for people who don't want to fill in
   the census form.

Instead of being turfed, as Mulroney and company were, the Conservative
Party has been rewarded with a majority government. This is because Mr.
harper has actually delivered on promises, and done so in a principled
manner, not just partisan political jockeying.

The lesson here is, the Conservative Party should continue doing what it
isdoing, do more of it, stick to core principles, and don't bullshit us like
Mulroney and the PCs did. Just explain what needs to be done (and why), then
get it done or have a bloody good reason why it can't be done. Very simple
political formula, leading to re-election every time.
