   Of course they can, and I agree it is prudent to do so. But it is not

   Unless the crop is stolen, then other people reap what you sow. That   
   happens a lot in Canada, and if it's the government who steal it then you   
   are SOL.

   yeah yeah... we know. The point is, you can do all of that and lose it all   
   through no fault of your own - at the stroke of a pen. It does happen, and   
   you need to understand that and stop assigning blame where none is   
   warranted.
