   You can bet that the very, very rich are getting preferred interest on their   
   deposits.  It's   
   only the average guy in Canada that pays more in taxes on earned interest than   
   he gets in   
   interest itself.   
      
   But you miss the real point of a TFSA - it's not the amount of interest you   
   get, but being able   
   to pull that money out whenever you like and not having to declare it as   
   taxable savings.   
   Compare that with any RRSP and you'll get the picture.
