|    Great Canadian Political Farce - F35s    |
|    13 Nov 11 17:44:35    |
From: Canuck57@nospam.com              Ottawa must be a puppet of the US DC. Maybe call Harper and parliament       the "USA Secretary of the Canadian Territory" on this one. Bilking       Canadian taxpayers for US F35 development wand war mongering. Some facts.              USA spends more on war machines and military than the top other 25       countries combined!!! Makes one wonder if the USA is at war with the       world? Yep, military strong and economically dead economy.       Historically, a dangerous mix as WW I and WW II Germany was in the same       economic crapper as the USA is today, too much money print. But I digress.              F35s have only one engine, Arctic and over the ocean is safer period.       Just a mathematical certainty. Russians know it.              How many know modernized F18s are still being made for 1/4 the cost of a       F35? And most countries Canada size and smaller prefer them. Less       training, safer.... a 4:1 price differential all told. Even gets       better when training, munitions and spare parts are involved.              F18s even fly faster, a huge bonus given Canada's size. Quicker to the       theater of conflict. Yep, F18s can outrun F35s. Do we need stealth       against domestic threats? Ever heard of a 777 firing missiles?              We didn't even use the F18s we have out of Comox to do a flyby of the       Tamil ships. Might be better with a new helicopter like an Apache.              Here is the scary part, F35s are obsolete and expensive in that at least       3 other military aircraft have the capabilities of shooting down a F35       without much effort. And F18 can carry much of the same weapons.              For domestic uses, our threats are hijacked planes, planes used as       weapons, perhaps choppers in the same way, or perhaps a boat... In       which case an F18 is superior as it goes faster for the intercept. And       last I checked, an F35 or F18 isn't going to be much of a match for a       hijacked Cessna anything. Fitness to task, F18 wins.              Now a Russian T-50 coming online now would make mince meat out out of       F35s. Expect a 10:1 kill ration in favor of the Russians here.       Interesting how Russians stick with the 2 engine design and only the F18       can outrun them. Hey, survivability of our pilots is a concern.              But the real threat is USA. No mater what we do, we could not defend       ourself from the south. So F18s are better for Canada and they still       make them. Less buggy too as it has decades of improvements for       reliability. Even lands on a carrier if you order the right model, the       F35s we ordered cannot.              And think, if we ordered Russian Sukhoi Su-30 you get them loaded at a       small cost of $33M a copy, and go much faster than a F18 or F35...50%       faster than a F35. Yep, for $33 billion we can have 60 F35s or we could       get 1000 Su-30 that go fast.... China, India, Malaysia and others use them.              So why is Ottawa mortgaging our grand kids future with more debt-tax       slavery so we can buy expensive toys? Subsidizing he US war machine       empire at Canadian taxpayers expense isn't justification, it is       political corrupt and egalitarianism.              But sure isn't as bad as the Liberal purchase of UK obsolete and       serviceable subs.              Don't get me wrong on this, our service personal on the rank and file       are the best. The cream of the crop. But the strategic leadership and       politicians have their heads where the sun never shines.              What were these idiots in Ottawa thinking? Wasting our money to keep us       good working poor debt-tax slaves?       --       The reason government can't fix the economic problems is government is       the problem.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
