   the bright planet Venus for Comet A3 and its long wispy tail.

   The first night Venus was below the trees and I confused Arcturus with it,   
   until the sky was dark enough to see the Big Dipper for identification. Last   
   night I moved and found Venus but still no comet, even with 7x50 binocs that   
   show dim stars I can't see without them. It may have been hidden by light   
   from the city below. There's enough sky light on moonless nights to walk in   
   the woods.
