And those policies often hurt employees       >who don't conform to the mold imposed on them from above.       --       Dems perpetuate a problem that they can manipulate to attract voters. They       may pretend to solve it but poison the solution to make fiscally responsible       people vote it down and appear to oppose it.              https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrecking_amendment       "Wrecking amendments can pick up more votes than motions against, because       observers tend to focus on who voted in favour and against the Bill in the       final count, rather than looking at the amendments made during the passage       through the legislature."              We sometimes do it in town meetings, I've added a few amendments to invert       or at least soften the effect of radical petitioned proposals. "Will the       town vote to support/oppose yadda yadda..." On budget items zeroing the       dollar amount kills them without changing other wording or intent, as what       town residents are allowed to change is limited.              During the discussion of an amendment I proposed I heard liberal sheeple       asking the author of the warrant article which way to vote because they       weren't sufficiently familiar with details of leftist dogma. They couldn't       or didn't dare think for themselves and risk their conformist self-esteem.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
