   In the early 70's I often flew the Eastern shuttle between Boston and   
   Newark. A lightly loaded 727 climbed steep and fast like a rocket ship out   
   of Newark due to noise regulations.

   At a mid 50's air show I watched F-106s take off that way, followed by a   
   C-130 at the same steep climb angle but in slow motion.   
      
   The most alarming sight I saw at Newark was a plane landing from the East   
   very low over a row of tank cars carrying tetraethyl lead, a highly   
   flammable poison.
