I've read that some pets have died of a broken heart after the owner leaves as
the pet's going to be put down.  I will try to find that, but every vet I've
talked to about it has said that the owner being there relaxes the pet and
gives it assurance.  They know what's going to happen and it means the world
to them as they pass on.  I'm sure if she could, Priscilla would have thanked
you for being there.

And as for your crying, remember, scientific studies have shown that a loss of
a pet is actually harder to deal with than the loss of a loved human relative.
But as you said, there's lots of memories to be had.
