 Ferral Cat question
 07 Nov 11 17:37:14

To all of You Cat people out there. I was wondering if You could pass on
some advice or experience to me. Here is the situation, I haven't owned
a Cat in many years and have not really dealt with any ferral cats.

One of the companies I visit just about every day, has a dumpster in the
back. From what I have seen, sometime this spring a cat had kittens
behind the dumpster. I have seen 4 in the spring, that survived. It
appears that the parents, though I have not seen both of them, I know
mother was black. Without a doubt, papa was siamese. The 4 that I have
seen are 2 black, One really odd but cute one that is mostly siamese
looking, but his hind legs are black, looks like he is wearing half a
suit with black pants. The other is a beautiful Siamese marked kitten
with all the markings of a beautiful siamese cat, but the hair is a
little longer, but in between a siamese and say a hymalayan in length. A
friend has seen the cats, has a siamese, and wants to try and take in
this one that looks siamese. BTW, as far as I can see now, since spring,
only two are now surviving. I only see one full black and the one
siamese marked one. My friend wants to save them as winter is coming and
they survive from the food that people from that company throw in the
dumpster from their unfinished lunches. My opinion is that the cats if
brought home will never be normal. She is a city dweller and it't not
like she is taking them out to the country to live in the barn so to
speak. She wants to keep them in with her 3 regular house cats. I just
don't think it is a good idea and I don't think after this amount of
time that they could be normal housecats. Anybody have any opinions,
suggestions or experience with this sort of thing?

Mike
