-> Home Depot says their cocoa mulch is safe:
-> http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/ContentView?p
=SF_GC_PD_Mulch&s
-> toreId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053
I'd be saying that too, if dogs were dropping dead to the right and to
the left of me . Nah unh, it aint our stuff! ;)
-> "The Home Depot does not and will not sell mulch harmful to pets. The mulch
-> sold by The Home Depot containing cocoa shells goes through several cleaning
-> processes, including a high heat system in order to strip the cocoa fat from
-> the shells without the use of any chemicals. The Home Depot has very strict
-> policies and procedures in place to ensure the integrity of the mulch
products
-> sold in our stores. All The Home Depot mulch suppliers are required to be
-> certified by the Mulch and Soil Council (MSC) which created the industry
-> standards and criteria for mulch and soil certification and inspection."
-> I think I will NOT take any chances..
I with You Janis.. And for those who don't care they can buy it, and
chance it. OTOH, there are a lot of different kind of mulch out there.
Do I want to take a chance my dog may or may not get sick? When there
are so many other alternatives out there?
I am not saying that the stuff is bad either. I am just like You, if
others seem to be having problems, No big deal, I can do well with
something else. Not having a green thumb, I don't even know why I would
want a mulch with Cocoa in it. Anyway, just wanted to pass it around as
it seems to be making the rounds, Legit or not, it is an suspicion worth
knowing about in case.
Have a good One!
