-=> In a Subspace Msg From Janis Kracht to Mike Roberts <=- JK> We're all hoping Leo just took after some rabbit or some such here.. JK> If I hadn't heard those darn coyotes howling like crazy one night soon JK> after he first "left", it wouldn't be so bad .. darn. I was warned JK> about the coyotes here too.. but you know, sometimes you just can't JK> keep an animal inside, no matter how hard you try. No, they like to get out, And if I understand You right about Leo, he was an outdoor animal to begin with? And whats with the coyotes all of a sudden. I hear even in my old home town of Avon, coyotes are driving people crazy at night. And that is nowhere near down in the southern tier as You are. But seems they have been howling all night. Last I heard them there was in the late 60's early 70's. Wonder why they are flourishing again. > lucky, another time someone did pick him up and take him. In the > neighborhood and I saw her walking him and she hollered at me for > letting him run around. ( which I did not, he got out, was not let out ) > I was so glad to see him, I just let her yell and get it off her chest > and took him home. JK> Geez, I bet you were tempted to scream right back, "you had to know JK> this was MY dog, not yours".. Geez, people are a trip sometimes. At that time I was just so glad to see the little guy she could have started beating me with a 2x4 and I'd just say thanks lady and get him home. 8-) I thought he was a goner, it was bad weather time of the year and he was a puppy and not used to the holiday traffic on the roads and such. I also guess I should be thankful that, one... she took him and and 2 she cared enough to lecture me even though she did not know what had happened. > Hopefully the cat was picked up too, and is waiting > for his chance to get out and come back home. And I know that is not much > consolation.. It is a helpless feeling. Keep us posted.. JK> It sure does feel helpless.. but I'll keep calling him.. who knows. Maybe a couple of knocks on the door etc may help. I don't know what Your area is like. So I don't know if that is feasible. Up here the local rescue groups on facebook have been pretty successful in reuniting pets and owners. Networks of that kind are not always that big, but they have some success when they start sharing info and pictures etc and that goes out to friends that go out to friends, and using the local groups, they usually reach local people pretty well. I just passed on a photo last night, and It wasn't my post, but someone elses, but because I reposted it, I follwed and this littl guy was walking down by the fish market on a small side street. Whoever rescued the dog, posted about 5 hours later that they found they owner. It may be worth a try. I'll keep hoping the best for You and Leo... Have a good One!
