Pug Love: Dog helps rescue cat from pond

Anyone who gets his or her information about the animal kingdom from
Cartoon Network may think that the relationship between dogs and cats is
irreparably damaged by the frequent and creative use of anvils, mallets and
dynamite.

But a recent real-world, life-threatening situation might say more about
the bond between the species than any Warner Brothers feature.

A pug named Chloe and cat named Willow are the beloved pets of the Bjelland
family from Billings, Montana, the Missoulian reports.

When Chloe witnessed her feline friend fall through the ice of a nearby
pond late in February, it was her incessant and raucous barks that may have
saved Willow's life.

Stirred by the ruckus, Amanda Bjelland went outside to check on Chloe, who
led her owner to the pond, where Willow was frantically pawing at the layer
of ice above her, unable to escape the freezing water.

Thankfully, Willow was pulled from the icy depths, and Chloe was rewarded
with a special bone for her heroism.

"She knows she did good," Bjelland told the news source.
