I think the term I read was "polite computing", where technology is there to assist without being disruptive. It's got 5 LEDs and a vibration feature. If you tap it, it'll tell you how what fraction of your step count you've met so far. It'll vibrate to wake you silently, to remind you to move every hour, and when you get a text message. Otherwise, it's unobtrusive. It also tracks sleep pretty well, although it doesn't do heart rate monitoring and can't track what level of sleep you're in. I'll be sad when it dies, they haven't made them for a couple of years. ...
