Anecdotal stuff aside, I'm inclined to agree. That said, I sometimes doubt
whether the 1% really cares about offsetting their own or if they figure
whatever god of capitalism that blessed them will just fix it all
later...assuming they care about future generations at all, which goes against
the philosophy. 

What was it Quark said? "5000? 10,000? What's the difference?
The speed of technological [or in this case environmental] advancement isn't
nearly as important as short-term quarterly gains."
