Point Pelee is a national park, and a point of land, but you are
probably thinking of Point Pelee Island which is offshore a ways.
Technically there is another small island the furthest point South
in Canada a little farther out called Middle Island.

I was more thinking of the nearest residential area close to
Point Pelee Park since that's what they usually refer to as the
Southernmost point on the mainland, probably Leamington, On..
