Here in New York, you are in one of two camps; those who are still taking the virus seriously, and those who are not... Thrown their hands in the air as stated in the article. The result for this part of the country? Our county is in a state of emergency, there are no ICU beds available anywhere in the county, and the national gaurd has been deployed to fill gaps in hospital staff. I admit that the covid-fatigue is here and very real but why people have decided to play stupid all of a sudden is beyond me. I'm in the high-risk group so the alternative to NOT taking the virus serious simply isn't an option. There are still people who have the nerve to tell me that the virus is a hoax or no more than a common cold. How do you respond to this in a meaningful way that will make the slightest difference? I've lost 5 people in my spere to this virus. Needlessly, I'm certain there will be more :( Stay safe out there... there's danger afoot! ** 22.12.21 - 06:40, Erich B. wrote to All: > No matter the severity of the variant, the appetite for shutdowns or other > large-scale social interventions simply isn’t there. > https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/12/omicron-end-of-pandemic/62 > 108 9/ Salutations from Rochester, NY... --- * Origin: Point KnightMare, Rochester, NY (1:267/585.1) SEEN-BY: 30/0 80/1 103/705 105/81 124/5016 129/305 153/250 757 203/0 SEEN-BY: 218/840 220/70 221/0 1 6 226/17 229/426 428 664 700 240/1120 SEEN-BY: 240/5832 261/38 267/67 118 150 156 157 585 800 280/464 282/464 SEEN-BY: 282/1038 292/8125 301/0 1 101 113 812 310/31 317/3 322/757 SEEN-BY: 340/1000 341/234 396/45 423/120 460/58 633/280 712/848 770/1 SEEN-BY: 770/100 340 772/220 230 920/1 5058/104 PATH: 267/585 800 770/1 310/31 280/464 301/1 229/426 |
