It won't be in orbit around the earth, so no pollution of orbit space. It's kind of the successor of the Hubble space telescope. It will see things never seen before. It has cost about 10 Billion so far. 10 times more than estimated. Because of it's place in space it can't be repaired once launched. Because of it's size it's folded up inside the launch rocket, and needs to be deployed after launch. So a lot can go wrong, and for that price, and the possible return in science data is so high, people are very anxious/exited about the launch, and deployement fase...
