RSX-11M-PLUS and RSTS are the best "native" OS available on PDPs, IMHO.
Unix was born on a PDP, so I think that V7 can be also a nice choice. :)

I'm running a SIMH PDP11/93 with RSX-11M-PLUS V4.6 with free login on Internet
if you want go a walk through.
It runs the TCP/IP stack developed (and still fully maintained) by Johnny
Billquist.

Telnet to gnappy.bizzi.org , username guest, password luther, you can login
with "hello guest" :)
