TID: Mystic BBS 1.12 A49 MSGID: 2:310/31.5 19a97862 TZUTC: 0100 Hey there. I got an PDP-11/34A herein the museum and trying to restore that heavy beast. Started with cleaning and dismantle the whole thing. The a friend of mine restored the PSUs inside while i did the cleaning of the backplanes and cards. First try was just the DD11-PK Backplane with UNIBUS Terminator and tried to read and write registers. Worked out well about 10 minutes when the 7 segment displays goes blank and only one Zero was visible on the right side. Restarting the PDP doesn't seem to work and the console was not longer responsible. I could feel IC27, a DM85S68N RAM Chip, was getting quite hot. So i soldered that IC out. Ordered some of these RAMs on eBay but still waiting for them to be delivered. Someone here have experiences with a PDP-11/34A? Regards Andreas ...
