we changed the CPU chip (8mhz 8086) out in one machine (AT&T 6300 IIRC) for a
NEC one (NEC V30) and the processing capability increased (2x?) for the same
clock speed... i think we also added a math coprocessor (8087) as well as
eventually upgrading the BIOS... too bad it wasn't Y1992 compliant... something
 about ""cheating"" with the clock chip and not using enough bits to represent
the year so 1992 was the highest year it could count to...
