Worst of both worlds: not as good at > business software as the IBM PC, and not as good as games as a Commodore or > Atari. But I learned a lot by trying to make things work. My apologies for the over-quoting but whenever I see a TI-99/4a I jump at the opportunity to talk about it. I got my first one in 1982 (Christmas, I was 7). Even though it was a little lame, cartridges, 40-column display, it was still amazing! I spent too many hours learning the ins and outs of computers, dialing up BBSes and college VAXs and learning more and more. When I finally got my IBM PS/2 Model 30 286 a couple years later I was living the dream. What it ultimately comes down to is what brought us our love for computers. If it wasn't for my father buying me that TI-99/4a, I wouldn't be where I am today (thanks Dad). --- SBBSecho 3.12-Linux * Origin: Caught in a Dream - caughtinadream.com (1:104/116) SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/0 2 18/200 19/36 90/1 104/115 116 105/81 106/201 SEEN-BY: 114/224 702 706 709 116/18 120/331 340 123/131 140 124/5016 SEEN-BY: 128/2 73 187 253 129/305 153/7715 154/10 203/0 218/700 221/0 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/30 227/114 702 229/101 424 426 452 664 981 1016 SEEN-BY: 229/1017 230/150 152 240/1120 5832 249/1 110 206 307 317 SEEN-BY: 249/400 250/1 261/38 100 266/512 267/155 275/100 280/464 SEEN-BY: 280/5003 282/1031 1056 288/100 291/100 111 292/854 305/1 SEEN-BY: 305/3 310/2 31 312/2 317/3 320/119 219 322/757 340/400 341/66 SEEN-BY: 342/200 396/45 423/120 633/280 640/1321 1384 712/620 848 SEEN-BY: 770/1 801/161 189 2320/105 2452/250 3005/1 3634/12 5020/1042 SEEN-BY: 5053/58 PATH: 104/116 15/0 261/38 712/848 280/464 229/101 426 |
