I was very little when Red was on TV.  My parents enjoyed him.  But I thought
his laughing at his own jokes deflated the potential of a joke.  Nevertheless,
there was good imagination and talent.

WRT Tom Mullica.. I just rewatched a vid of a card + smoking trick. It's still
very entertaining to see it again.

I'll have to que up some more Red and Tom vids.

However, Benny Hill was pretty darn good too!
