August,

AA> I was very little when Red was on TV. My parents enjoyed him. But I
AA> thought his laughing at his own jokes deflated the potential of a joke.
AA> Nevertheless, there was good imagination and talent.

Unlike comedians like George Burns, Jack Benny, and Bob Hope, Red could
not get through a joke without breaking down.

AA> WRT Tom Mullica.. I just rewatched a vid of a card + smoking trick.
AA> It's still very entertaining to see it again.

I'll have to look for that one.

AA> However, Benny Hill was pretty darn good too!

One night on the former "Nashville Network" (TNN), there was a show
called "Nashville Now", and Ralph Emery was hosting. One of the performers
did "Yakety Sax", and there were visitors there from the UK. He asked one
of the ladies if she knew the name of tune, and she replied "Benny Hill"!!
It brought the house down in laughter!!

Daryl

... Please make yourself at home. Take out the trash, and do the dishes.
