It could be. Or it could have fallen by the wayside like many such projects do.

I'm actually torn by the idea. The Riftwar Saga, and the entire series in that
world, is a favorite of mine.
Far too often, the adaptations fall short of my mental image, or diverge from
the source in ways that seem to cheapen it.

I understand that a visual format cannot always be faithful to a written
source, and I do expect some changes.  But there are times when the changes
actually change the story itself.
