Wrong. Private insurance companies operate with an overhead of less
than 12%. And in that figure, the administration costs cover the cost
for fraud which our government systems are plagued with. Too is the
fact that because our insurance companies invest money instead of
letting it sit there under a mattress like our government systems, it
   costs more to operate.

The fraud detection of our government systems is not included in this 2%
figure. They spend massive amounts through the FBI. Private insurance
profits on their investments range around 5 to 6%.

In the 90's, Newt Gangrich wanted legislation that would indeed offer
private insurance to Senior Citizens. The Democrats made claim that
Newt was attempting to end Medicare. They even went as far as to cut up
interviews with Gangrich to make it seem like he was lying.

But the better question is: If government can do so much better than
insurance companies, why doesn't government offer plans without using
taxpayer dollars like the insurance companies do? They can't, and they
   know it.
