   For that past 25 years Cheri Honkala has been at the front line   
   fighting for economic justice in America. In her 20's she and her   
   little boy Mark became homeless and struggled for basic necessities.   
   To survive Cheri moved into an abandoned HUD property and began a life-   
   long journey fighting for her family and other families in poverty.   
      
      
   Her organizing and civil disobedience has landed her in jail more than   
   200 times and she has been in the forefront fighting for adequate   
   food, housing, and health care.   
      
      
   In 2011 she became the first woman to run for Sheriff in Philadelphia   
   and the first and only Sheriff candidate to run on a zero-evictions   
   platform making her the only true "Occupy" candidate.   
      
      
   2012 she became the Green Party Vice-Presidential Nominee running with   
   Jill Stein.
