   A teenage victim of a woman who tricked two girls into sexual   
   encounters by pretending to be a man has expressed “outrage”   
   after she escaped a prison sentence and was put on probation for   
   three years.   
      
   The judge Lord Bannatyne said Christine Wilson's case was   
   "clearly exceptional" as he sentenced her at the High Court in   
   Edinburgh.   
      
   The 26-year-old from Aberdeen, who has “gender identity   
   disorder”, previously admitted two charges of obtaining sexual   
   intimacy by fraud in a legal first in Scotland.   
      
   She told her teenage victims her name was Chris and had sexual   
   contact with both of them on various occasions in 2008 and 2010.   
   Her first victim ended the fraudulent relationship after being   
   shown Wilson’s passport photograph.   
      
   Lord Bannatyne said the offences were very unusual and added   
   that the fact that her disorder led her to “genuinely feel” that   
   she was male had significantly lowered her “culpability".   
      
   He put her on probation and ordered her to carry out 240 hours   
   of community service.   
      
   One of her victims, Megan Adie, who is now 18, said she was   
   devastated by the non-custodial sentence, adding: “She will be   
   able to go back to her own house and lie in her own bed again. I   
   will also be lying in mine, still trying to deal with what she   
   has done to me.   
      
   "I really hope the judge has really thought this sentence   
   through because if Christine does this again, I hope he knows   
   it's on his conscience."   
      
   Wilson had repeated sexual contact with her first victim in   
   2008, and with Miss Adie, who was a virgin when they met, in   
   2010. She told her she was a 16-year-old male, and used a sex   
   toy to persuade her of her sex.   
      
   The court heard earlier that Miss Adie regarded her as her   
   “first love” and struggled to come to terms with her deceit when   
   police told her the truth in August 2010.   
      
   The court was also told that Wilson would not allow the girls to   
   do “anything to her that might reveal her gender".   
      
   Jane Farquharson, prosecuting, said at an earlier hearing that   
   Wilson had presented herself as a boy since childhood.   
      
   She added that her second victim thought she was having sexual   
   intercourse for the first time and both “declared their love for   
   each other”.   
      
   When she took advantage of her first victim she was a 21-year-   
   old woman pretending to be a 17-year-old male.   
      
   Shelagh McCall, defending, said her client had gender identity   
   issues and insisted on referring to her during yesterday’s   
   hearing as “he”. She also said that Wilson wanted to undergo   
   gender re-assignment.   
      
   Nathan Gale, of the Scottish Transgender Alliance, claimed   
   prosecuting someone for gender fraud threatened rights to   
   privacy.
