   No where on the web can I find who first coined the word "productions"   
   and why they chose that word. I fully understand that its from formal   
   logic theory and relates to grammar rules for the manipulation of   
   strings of symbols. It seems that everyone just excepts, and repeats,   
   the definitions for Production Rules and Productions - I'd like a   
   little more background than that.
