|    Goal of AI: Perfect or Bounded Rationali    |
|    25 May 06 00:19:10    |
I understand that the goal of AI with respect to rationality has been       addressed by several people, for example Simon and Russell.              Now, it appears to me that the goal of artificial intelligence should       be Bounded Rationality for two reasons:       1. Computation complexity makes perfect rationality impossible       2. Perfect rationality would mean the lack of such irrational behaviour       in humans like morality.              Does anyone have views regarding this? Which kind of rationality should       be the goal of AI, and WHY ?              [ comp.ai is moderated ... your article may take a while to appear. ]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
