      Industrial Internship in Robust Adaptive Systems Research,       BT Research Laboratories              Job type: 6-12 month internship, with possibility to extend further       Location: BT Research, Adastral Park, Ipswich       Closing date: 18th July 2006 (early applications are strongly advised)              BT's Pervasive ICT research centre has an internship position       available as part of a research project in large-scale, resilient       networks. The project is focused on pervasive and adaptive networked       services and systems, and involves collaboration with other industrial       and academic partners. This position is part of a new and expanding       project to develop cutting-edge applications and novel solutions for       dependable and robust ICT networks.              The position offers a challenging and varied research environment.       Among the topics to be investigated are:       - Service-Oriented Architectures and Peer-to-Peer networks       - Dependable and adaptive behaviour, including self-healing and       self-protecting networks       - Multi-Agent Systems and nature-inspired design principles       - Automated service discovery; Resilient computing services              This position would suit someone who has recently obtained their degree       and is looking for an opportunity to bring their research and software       skills to bear in an industrial research context.
