From: littleredhairedgirl@gmail.com              Programming Robots                     There are several tasks that require a group of specially programmed       robots.                     The tasks can be named tO, tM, tC and tI. Each task takes one full       day       to perform.       Task tI is and idle function. Each robot must be idle twice,       consecutively to be maintained and reprogrammed for a new schedule of       tasks.       Task tO is an operational function. Each Robot is programmed to place       widgets into packaging. This operation must performed by one Robot       every day. It is preferable that the Robot be programmed to perform       this function consecutively, or at the beginning and end of a       programmed cycle.       TasktM is a maintainance function. Each Robot is programmed to work       on       repairing any broken equipment. The function may be performed       Wednesday through Saturday. All Robots must perform this task on       Sunday, unless they are idle (Task tI).       Task tC is a cleaning function. Each Robot is programmed to clean       the       entire work space. This operation must performed by one Robot every       day. It is preferable that the Robot be programmed to perform this       function consecutively, or at the beginning and end of a programmed       cycle. This Task must be repeated by an additional Robot on Friday       and       Saturday.                     These robots function daily, seven days a week.       Each Robot may only be programmed to perform tO twice each week.       Each Robot may only be programmed to perform tC twice each week.       Each Robot may be programmed to perform tM any time during the week.                     Tasks tI, tC, tO should be performed consecutively.                     How many Robots are required to complete these scheduled tasks?       Can this schedule be expressed in Excel with a sheet looking like       this...                      Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat Sun       Robot1 tO tO tI tI tC tC tI       Robot2 tI tI tC tC tO tO tM       Robot3 tC tC tO tO tI tI tM              [ comp.ai is moderated ... your article may take a while to appear. ]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
