|    AI as a career    |
|    03 May 07 11:34:35    |
Hi,       I find AI concepts really interesting and I would someday like to       pursue research/a career in AI (with my current knowledge levels, I'm       leaning towards Cognitive Science/Operational Research). I am       currently working in the VLSI domain.              Unfortunately, I come from an electronics background and I don't have       any object-oriented programming knowledge. As a result, I'm really       confused as to how I can convince anyone to take me on as a research       assistant. :-(       Any ideas what will enhance my chances of getting into a good AI       course in the US/UK? Is doing a short object-oriented language course       (e.g. Java) a good idea?              Any help/thoughts are very much appreciated.       Merci!              [ comp.ai is moderated ... your article may take a while to appear. ]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
