   Object-oriented programming is more like a tool rather than a key   
   concept in AI. It is just a popular paradigm for programming. Lisp is   
   useful because it is an efficient language for rapid prototyping.   
      
   Taking an OOP language course might be a good idea. I think you'll   
   have to know at least a bit about programming when doing research   
   work.
