Imagine you wake up one morning and the door to your bedroom is on the
other side than what it was yesterday.

Your initial state of knowledge is that you KNOW that the door is on
one side. The reality at this point is that it is on the other. What
do you do? Sit staring at the former door all day? I think not.

Likewise, what do you do when somebody gives you specific directions
for a task and you have a previous recipe that directly contradicts
their directions? Do you sit immobile in a puddle of drool?
