|    Hybrid Systems    |

There has been a certain amount of work done on hybrid systems       combining logic and algebra. These studies may focus on the       combination of discrete and continuous systems and most frequently       involve a combination of expert systems and neural networks.              I am interested in work on hybrids that goes beyond              logic + algebra.              For instance, one might consider              logic + algebra + grammar              or, say,              logic + algebra + grammar + iconic reasoning.              (iconic reasoning might be via Peirce graphs, for example.)              I would like to know of anyone working on such hybrids or of any       published papers.              A motivation behind such work might be an attempt to combine a wider       range of representations and reasoning systems, each best adapted to       its own problem domain.              [ comp.ai is moderated ... your article may take a while to appear. ]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
