From: man@acm.org              One of the most interesting question is actually       about the adaptation of AI. While most of us       drive or take a bus because we cannot physically       move as efficiently as these machines, and more       importantly, we don't feel intimidated by these       machines (perhaps even enhanced by them, considering       the Hummar and sports cars), however...              there seem to be some unspoken psychological       push against machines that help our thinking       and mental activities. It is similar to saying,       "Hey, I'm not going to drive that Acura NSX       because it goes much faster than I can run!"              While a lot of F500 company CEOs use AI for       strategic research and logic deduction in       massive conflicting data environment, AI       technology seems to be destined to be used       by the few whom has some kind of quality       that enable them to use these tools.              Personally I believe AI tools is cheap       enough to be run on the average PC now,       but... why would a high schooler want       to use an AI to figure out the optimal       social activities to partake to maximize       his social utility? that would take all       of the fun out of being a teenager...              ---              [ comp.ai is moderated.
