   Hi,   
      
   This is a kind of a newbie question: I would like to know what are the most   
   important achievements of AI? From outsider's point of view, there has been   
   lots of hype during last twenty years of so, but personally I'm still   
   waiting for the breakthrough. Have I missed something monumental here? I'm   
   especially interested in comments regarding intelligent agent technology. My   
   opinion is that in the intelligent agent technology field, the ratio between   
   real stuff and hype is not looking good. I hope that my point of view is far   
   too pessimistic.
