   My project for the next semester is to design a program that   
   recognizes Arabic handwritings.   
      
   The user input the writings with a pen or with the mouse in the   
   writing area.   
      
   The text is inputted letter by letter, and the program should   
   recognize each letter separately.   
      
   According to the pen motion in the writing area, the letter should be   
   interpreted.   
      
   I'm a newbie to AI, but I thought of neural networks.   
      
   I downloaded a palm emulator which has a built-in program called   
   Graffiti that recognizes English letters inputted by a stylus.   
      
   I want some references, websites, ideas, sample programs with source   
   that talk about handwriting recognition.
