|    Which jobs in AI?    |
|    30 Aug 04 16:03:30    |
From: fake@mail.com              Hi,              I'm a student of M.Sc. in computer engineering. I'm going to begin to       work on the thesis, which I think to be something in the field of AI.       Mainly I'm interested in Machine Learning (ANN, GA, RL) which I recently       briefly studied in a Soft Computing course, but I don't exclude other AI       parts not yet known to me.              To decide which detailed topic to work on, I want to consider also which       job opportunities I could find there.              Excluding PhDs/academic careers in universities, which sectors of AI are       likely to offer good job perspectives, now and in the future? Which jobs       are these?       (I mean, jobs with some kind of diffusion thus offering several       opportunities, good employment conditions, topics not likely to get       outdated, ... )       In general, are AI-jobs perspectives better than other 'classical' CS       ones (e.g. software development, DB, networks) ?              As a location to establish, I plan about Switzerland or Germany in the       long range, but I can also consider limited periods in other European       countries or US.              Thanks,       Mario              [ comp.ai is moderated.
