   Hi,

I was the research manager at AAII, which was indeed based in Melbourne.
It no longer exists, except on paper. It was a not-for-profit enterprise
which shut down in about 1999 in order to reinvent itself as the company
Agentis Software, which is based in the USA but still has a big office in
Melbourne. The connection with MU was mainly research collaborations,
but AAII was also officially an affiliate of the university which meant
it could cosupervise grad students, etc. I think there's 3 of us from
AAII at Agentis. The former director Mike Georgeff is at Monash U in
Melbourne, and other former staff formed the company Agent Oriented
   Software, also in Melbourne.

Feel free to contact me via email if I can help you further.
