|    hesitating on shoosing a major!    |

From: redflyingpig@163.com              Hi,        I'm going to be a postgraduate student in Bristol in Advanced Computing.       My major of undergraduate study is also Computer Science, general, without       special direction. There are two directions in the University of Bristol,       Global Computing& Multimedia, and Data Mining & Machine Learning.       Personally speaking, I'm more interested in thinking in computer science       rather than doing engineering projects. I'm more interested in fundamental       theories rather than applications of techniques. So I prefer the latter       direction. However, the AI in Bristol is not very strong, whereas Bristol       is famous for its multimedia. Besides, multimedia is obviously easier for       people to find jobs. That is the case, it's not likely for me to change a       university. I'm really hesitating! Which one shall I choose? Can anyone       give me some suggestions?              Thanks,        Alex              [ comp.ai is moderated. To submit, just post and be patient, or if ]       [ that fails mail your article to |
